“I started as a freshman from New York City studying Computer Science as well as an Undergraduate Research Scholar who works on implementing interventions for kids in the Social Kids Lab. My interests lie heavily in Educational Psychology and understanding how technology can improve classrooms and make the learning experience inclusive. I also enjoy drawing and looking up random game theories in my spare time.”
Lisa Burley
Lisa Burley (she/her) was an Instructional Technologist with the Collaboratory for Engineering Education and Teaching Excellence (CEETE). She is passionate about enhancing student learning through assisting instructors in selecting, using, and troubleshooting learning technologies to meet instructional goals. Her interest in the teaching and learning space was ignited as an undergraduate organic chemistry tutor at the University of Michigan. Since then, she has grown her skill set in this space as a graduate teaching assistant at Virginia Tech and a high school science teacher in southwest Virginia before migrating to the University of Wisconsin-Madison where her focus transitioned to instructional design and online learning. She came to CEETE from the Learn@UW team where, in her role as an instructional technology consultant, she found her love for problem solving learning technologies and providing strong customer support.
Neel Chaudhari
Neel Chaudhari joined CEETE as a consultant in November 2020. He is originally from India and is double majoring in Computer and Data Science. Outside of school, he is passionate about aviation and plans to get his flying license soon. In the future, he aspires to work for Boom Supersonic and eventually, build his own electric aircraft. He also loves to code, play soccer and read about history.
Danny Clepper
Daniel Clepper is a second-year student from Naperville, Illinois, joining CEETE as a consultant as of November 2020. He is studying Industrial Engineering and pursuing a Leadership Certificate through the Emerging Leaders in Engineering program at the university. Daniel is interested in process optimization and developing socio-technical systems based on cognitive behaviors. In his free time, he enjoys playing an assortment of musical instruments, hitting the tennis court with friends, and making others laugh.
Julie Collins
Position title: Instructional Designer
Julie Collins is an instructional designer with the Center for Teaching, Learning & Mentoring at the UW Madison. As part of that work, she collaborates with the CEETE team in supporting the College of Engineering. Julie draws on an interdisciplinary background spanning the biological sciences, agroecology, English, and education research to implement active learning activities and student-centered pedagogy in a variety of courses. She is excited to connect instructors with effective teaching strategies that fit their individual goals.
Julie is assisted in her remote work by four feline “coworkers” (whom she likes to blame for the stray email typo) and ample fresh coffee. While she tires of the phrase “in these unprecedented times,” she hopes you’re doing well as we live through them together.
Diego Fratta
Diego Fratta was a part of the student consulting team from December 2017 to 2020. Diego studied Computer Engineering and Computer Science hoping to work with virtual reality someday or as a professor. Outside of school and work Diego enjoys watching and playing soccer, video games and watching TV.
Brandon Garcynski
Brandon Garczynski was a consultant from 2013-2016. He graduated from Chemical Engineering. When Brandon isn’t helping professors with their Moodle courses or doing homework, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outdoors, watching the Badgers and Packers, and playing with puppies. Brandon also spent his time on campus as an undergraduate researcher in the Huber Research Group.
Zachary Gunderson
Zachary Gunderson is an aspiring Computer Engineer who previously work at Credo Product Development as an Electrical Engineer Intern. Zach is currently developing his customer service skills on the CEETE team! Where he wishes to empower those, who come to CEETE, and give them the answers they need to help make UW-Madison function at its peak level.Zach is from the Madison area and is proud to be attending the prestigious school of UW-Madison.

Sara Hagen
Sara was an Instructional Technology Consultant with CEETE, assisting with the transition to Canvas in the School of Engineeering. She is now an Academic Planner and Data Analyst for the College of Engineering.
Interests: learning analytics, assessment, course and program evaluation, active teaching, teaching with technology, and data visualization

Elizabeth Harris
Position title: Former Director, CEETE
Elizabeth Harris is the former CEETE Director. Elizabeth has been part of the University of Wisconsin Madison’s College of Engineering from 2012 to 2022. She approaches Engineering Education through the lens of her cognitive and systems engineering expertise, in addition to her background in education and IT. She particularly enjoys working to improve the effectiveness of institutions, and the experiences of students, faculty, and academic staff by addressing the holistic ecologies present around teaching and learning in Higher Education. She does this by partnering to foster, create, and explore cultural and strategic interventions, in addition to practical.
Allison Henke
Allison Henke started as a consultant in March 2018 and is currently a junior double majoring in Neurobiology and Psychology. She has interests in biology, neurology, and wants to pursue a career in the medical field. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, dancing, playing instruments; like the ukulele, enjoying the outdoors, and hanging out with friends.
Makayla Holder
Makayla Holder is originally from New York City. She is a first-year student majoring in Mechanical Engineering and began working for CEETE in September of 2019. She hopes to work in the Jet Propulsion Laboratory at NASA in the future. Outside of school Makayla enjoys critiquing movies and trying new food.
Ian Horvath
Ian Horvath is a new CEETE consultant, joining as of October 2018. He is a sophomore majoring in Computer Science. In the future Ian plans to develop software for a major tech company. In his free time he likes to practice math problems and play video games.
Jonah Leurquin
Jonah Leurquin: “I am a senior geological engineering student and have worked here at CEETE for a few years now. I enjoy this work because I like working through problems and learning how to best teach science courses. As a student, I am interested in how we can use geophysics to learn more about geohazard protection. If you were to run into me on a random summer day I am most likely biking around Lake Mendota jamming to my summer playlists and eating an artisan PBJ sandwich.”
Keegan MacDonald
Keegan MacDonald was a consultant from 2014-2017. He studied Geological Engineering and Geoscience with a Certificate in German and an intended Certificate in International Engineering. A past exchange program ignited his interest in German culture and inspired him to take a summer internship at RU-Bochum. In his free time, he enjoys playing music and following sports.
Connor Neff
Connor Neff was a consultant from 2014-May 2016. He graduated with a Computer Science degree. Connor has a passion for information security as well as web development, and other types of programming and is currently employed in Dallas, Texas, at State Farm in Information Security. Connor in his spare time enjoys movies, performing improv, and running.
Satiya Samlal
Satiya Samlal is from Brooklyn, New York who joined CEETE as a Sophomore in 2018. She’s on a Pre-Veterinarian track majoring in Japanese with intended certificates in Game Design and Leadership. She hopes to create video games that teach people to be emotionally intelligent and socially aware. Though she aspires to be an animal surgeon, she loves making others laugh and playing video games with her friends. In her spare time, she plays with her dog, watches history documentaries, or listens to music.
Gregory Spicer
Greg Spicer was a CEETE consultant from 2015-2017. He has a passion for many languages of programming including web development, Java, C and others. Also, he has experience with embedded systems and microprocessors. In his spare time Gregory enjoys snow skiing, water skiing, the Denver Broncos, relaxing with friends, and most sports.
Roz Stengle
Roz Stengle is a junior double majoring in Computer Science and Economics and worked with CEETE from 2017-2018. She loves technology and how people interact with it and make decisions. When she’s not reading up on game theory or distributed systems, she’s probably cooking, hiking or watching a SciFi movie and thinking about her future dogs.
Jenny (Haeng) Ye
Jenny Ye joined CEETE in September of 2016, and has been a Lead Consultant from January of 2018 until graduation.
She was senior major in Computer Sciences. She is interested in how technology can bring values in society, so she has also worked as an undergraduate researcher in the Learning Sciences Lab at WCER. As one of the organizers at MadHacks – Wisconsin’s largest hackathon, she spent her time helping other students expand their passion in CS. In her spare time she enjoys playing the keyboard, running, and watching cool videos of Boston Dynamics.
Yingshi (Shay) Zhang
Shay majored in Computer Science and Statistics, and worked for CEETE as a technology consultant from March 2016-May 2018. She is passionate about technology, specifically about the field of Human-Computer Interaction. In her free time, Shay likes to spend her time working out at the gym, with her friends or with the cats.
Mike Zimmerman
Mike Zimmerman was a Consultant from 2013-2017. He was a Geoscience and Geological Engineering double major focusing on Geotechnical Engineering. In his spare time, Mike enjoys running, following the Badgers and Packers, and spending time outside.
